Planted Beets in Mary’s Garden
9/3/2020 – Beet seeds we pre-sprouted had grown long roots and we decided to not put them into the big garden but try them in Mary’s garden. She planted them today and they were growing two days later when Tom stepped on the middle of the row. The others still look good.

8/30/2020 – Seeing fresh little black eggs clustered on the leaves and more leaf damage. Saw one shield bug and stomped him. Sprayed malathion on everything in the garden’s new plants that are not sprouting seedlings; i.e. the first two rows from the east and the pumpkin/squash row.

Sowed Evergreen Bunching Onions in Grandma’s Garden
8/27/2020 – Sowed one row of Evergreen Bunching Onion seeds that had been soaked overnight. The row is on the south end and next to the grass. Note in the photo above the green shoots to her right next to the fence. Those are multiplying onions she planted last week.
