2/26/2025 – In the greenhouse on her new work bench, Mary sowed 24 Better Boys and 22 Big Beef tomato seeds in ~3-in. deep 2×2 plastic pots. Positioned them on the HOSS warming mat spread on the 2″ styrofoam insulation panel.

Continue Reading9/5/2024 – Bought two Grape (Tami G) Hybrid Tomatoes and one Husky Cherry Red tomato in the grow boxes on the back patio. The cherry is in the box with the spring basil plant that survived the summer. The seedlings were grown by Bonnie and bought at Lowes.
Continue Reading5/30/2024 – Sprayed tomatoes with Liquid Copper Fungicide at 5 oz/gal and the Cucumbers that have just started to bear with Epsom salts at 1 tbsp/gallon. This was the first spraying of fungicide on the tomatoes. Likely should have started at least a week ago.
Continue Reading5/29/2024 – A few stink bugs appeared on the tomatoes yesterday and today there were more. Sprayed them with Gordon’s Bug-No-More at 5 oz./gallon. Sprayed 1.5 gallons on the 75 feet of row. That product is no longer made. The active ingredient was zeta-permethrin. Ordered Bug Buster from HOSS to replace it.
