Continue Reading5/31/2025 Sprayed spinosad on tomatoes for lg grn worms and lightly sprayed peppers just in case. Moved Okra seedlings that were too close into gaps where seeds did not germinate. Used push plow with rippers to do corn middles for crab grass and with stirrup hoe along the tiny peas, squash, and cucumbers.
Continue Reading5/29/2024 – A few stink bugs appeared on the tomatoes yesterday and today there were more. Sprayed them with Gordon’s Bug-No-More at 5 oz./gallon. Sprayed 1.5 gallons on the 75 feet of row. That product is no longer made. The active ingredient was zeta-permethrin. Ordered Bug Buster from HOSS to replace it.
Continue Reading7/7/2023 – Found carpenter ants in 8-10 pecan trees in the orchard. Also in the northmost tree next to the pole barn and the southmost tree near the house that had been struck by lightning. Killed them with Bifrin IT at 1 oz/gal. They were also around the Sand Pear tree and the Old Oak.
