Thinned Seedlings in the Garden

Gardening

4/6/2012 – The seedlings listed below show some frost damage but seem to be coming through it. Today the weaker ones were thinned to achieve the following.

  • Thin Delta Squash on the south end of the 2nd row to 1 every 18-24″
  • Thin Golden Bush Scallop Summer Squash 18-30″ apart
  • Thin Tromboncino Squash to every 36-48″. Row 3, south end
  • Thin cucumbers to 12 in. apart.

Those seeds did germinate with the early morning temps dipping into the 50° range. The Hales Best Cantaloupes and Pazola Zucchini did not germinate at the colder soil temps.
