5/7/2023 – Forecast low temperatures for the next 10 days is 68°. We received 1.3 inches of rain 48 hours ago and the row was pulled up over 13-13-13 when the pea rows were pulled on 4/29/2023. Sowed the eastmost row in the north half with Cajun Jewel Okra seed.
Loosen the soil with the 4-tined hoe leaving a small depression. Dropped in the seeds with the PVC drop pipe. Then pulled the damp soil over them with the garden rake so they are ½-¾ inches deep at 15-18 inches apart.
Rolled over them with the original Chapin red plastic seeder with its wide rear wheel to lightly compact the soil around the seeds.
