Ratooned 30% of okra stalks

Gardening

9/1/2024 – Cut off 30% of old bear okra stalks. Larger older ones with few if any leaves had small green shoots that looked healthy given the fertilizing done a week or so ago and the inch of rain we had in the past week—first good rain since July 27. This is the first time to try “ratooning” as it is called in the SEVG Handbook.

Most Spineless Okra had lost most of their leaves but many had small bright green shoots 6″-12″ high.
