5/25/2019 – Susan Knippenberg had visited Africa and brought back some okra seed where the pod is stripped. She had planted it in her yard in Atlanta and brought Frank some pods to plant the seeds. He gave us one pod and today when Peggy asked if any had come up I replied no…as I forgot to plant it.
Cleaned out the empty part of Row 8 next to the Cherokee White Eagle corn and planted the seeds 3/4″ to 1″ deep. That row was very near the tripod sprinkler that ran 1.5 hours late yesterday and 45 minutes this morning. The dirt was damp 6″ down as I rooted out nut grass at least that deep.
Once they were patted down I watered them in.
