Planted Basil and Onions in Mary’s Garden

Gardening

4/28/2021 – We pulled the last of the carrots and tilled that space and the spaces that had spinach and onions.

The basil she grew from seed in the new greenhouse and up-potted to 6″ pots waiting on the weather to warm up, are great plants. The had enough roots to hold the soil together and we have high hopes for their success.

The bunching onion seeds she sowed in a tray had about 70% germination. The ones that grew did very well and had filled the small cell with roots and grew tall leaves.

While tilling Mary decided to pull all the carrots so she did and I tilled it. The carrots should have been pulled earlier before they grew so large. But, it was fun to clean them and enjoy the harvest.
