Built Bed Next to the Front Walk

Yard

3/16/2024 – Completed a new bed along the front walkway from the east end of the driveway bed to the Daylilies at the SW corner of the house. This is where the Magnolia Frescati had been and part of its stump is now under the mulch.

Tilled the sod and added about 4-6 inches of Potting Mix (fine crushed pine bark plus lime and nutrients) from Longleaf Mulch and then 1-2 inches of crushed pine bark mulch also from Longleaf.

Planted:

  • two Pink Double Knock Out Roses
  • transplanted a Pardon Me daylily
  • planted new varieties we bought late last fall that have grown nicely over the winter in Grow Boxes in the greenhouse. The Bitsy is planted at the post of the bird feeder.
