2/25/2025 – The yard has a lot of weeds. Sprayed 2 qts on Front, east side, back and Spider Wort near Martin house. Should have taken 1.25 quarts in 8 gal water. Mixed more at 0.75 Qts in 5 gal that included the little the suction could not get.
Going too slow??? Started at 1H 1100 RPM which felt like walking speed of 3.7 MPH. Halfway through sped up to 1400 RPM.
The Plan and Areas to be sprayed with the “new” 25-gallon sprayer
- The label’s application range of WFZ is 0.75-1.5 oz./1000 SF.
- For this treatment, we will apply 1.25 oz. per 1000 SF
- Areas to be sprayed:
- The front yard east of driveway + east side yard to fat-pine pile + back yard = 24,000 SF
- The portion of the barnyard with the purple broadleaf = 2000 SF
- Total = 26,000 SF
- For Fergie at 540 RPM in Gear 1H she goes 3.7 MPH from here. THAT RPM IS NOT RIGHT.
- From the Ag-Sprayer chart – 4 MPH at 40 psi puts out 0.23 Gallons/KSF. [Chk – That is 0.23×43.560=10 gal/ac which is more water than the minimum 5 gal/ac.]
- 26,000 SF + 10% contingency will take 26 x 0.23 gallons x 1.10 = 6.6 gallons of mix. Therefore, fill the tank with 6.6 gallons of water and add 26 KSF x 1.25 oz/KSF = 32 oz. of WFZ = 1 quart
- Nonionic Surfactant at 1 TBSP/Gallon = 7 Tbsp = 3.5 oz. = ~1/2 Cup
