4/16/2024 – Sowed the seeds listed below.
- General Lee Cucumbers – Now called “Generally” in the south half (next to the road) of the south half’s Row 55ft from the east fence. The spacing was 12 inches.
- Grand Prize Squash Farmore F1 – in the north half of the south half’s Row 55ft from the east fence. The spacing was 36 inches. The seeds were from last year so sowed two per location about 4-6 inches apart. This variety did ok last year until the long heavy rains in July hurt everything.
- Poinsett Cucumbers – in the south half (next to the road) of the south half’s Row 49ft. The spacing was 12 inches.
- Tendergreen Mustard/spinach – in the south half (next to the road) of the south half’s Row 65ft. Dribbled the seed (left over from last year) by hand over about 8-12 wide swath then raked and rolled.
- Desert Zucchini – About a 15 ft long row next to the center aisle of the north half’s Row 36ft. The spacing was a single seed at 24 inches.
- Pascola Zucchini – About a 15 ft long row immediately north of the Desert Zucchini north half’s Row 36ft. The spacing was a single seed at 24 inches.
- Gold Star (yellow) Squash – About 30 feet of the north end of Row 36ft in the north half. The spacing was a single seed at 24 inches.
The north half row above at 36ft was not pulled up over fertilizer other than the broadcast potash spread with the lime several months ago.
The south half rows above did have 13-13-13 spread between the tracks then pulled up some weeks ago. Before the seeds were sown, the row was loosened with the hiller running shallow but enough to loosen up the soil.
All rows had 12-inch spacing Blue line drip installed. We used the drip’s wet spots to place the seed.
