From the 2,4-D Amine page here.
- Pastures – 1 qt. per acre but not on newly seeded pastures.
- 1 qt/ac = 1 qt/43.56 ksf = 32 oz/43.56 ksf = 0.74 oz/ksf
- Minimum 5 gallons of water per acre
Area Sprayed
- Orchard – 1 ac
- South side of Pond Yard to the north magnolia – 0.4 ac
- Barnyard to halfway to the pond – 0.25 ac
- Around the Garden twice – 0.1 ac
- TOTAL = 1.75 ac = 76.23 KSF
Mix Calculations
- For Fergie at 540 RPM in Gear 1H she goes 3.7 MPH from here.
- From Ag-Sprayer chart – 4 MPH at 40 psi puts out 0.23 Gallons/KSF. That is 0.23×43.560=10 gal/ac which is more water than the minimum 5 gal/ac.
- 2,4-D amount should be 76.23 KSF x 0.74 oz/KSF = 56 oz = 7 cups
- Water amount required is 0.23 x 76.23 = 17.5 gallons
- Nonionic Surfactant at 1 TBSP/Gallon = 17 Tbsp = 8.5 oz. = ~1 pint
