9/29/2022 – Sowed:
- Green Magic Broccoli – Air temps fell 10° in the past few days and soil is now in the high 80s to low 90s. Broccoli should germinate. The location was the south end of the row at 58 ft from the fence.
- Parisian Gherkin Cucumber – First time to try this short (50-day) maturing variety that hopefully has time to produce before the first hard frost. The location is a 10-ft piece of the central part of the row at 48 ft from the fence south of the Max Pack.
- Max Pack Cucumber – First time to try this short (55-day) maturing variety that hopefully has time to produce before the first hard frost. The location is a 10-ft piece of the central part of the row at 48 ft from the fence. North of the Parisian.
Note – These hilled rows were pulled up over fertilizer several weeks ago. While watering the squash (no rain since 9/17) also watered these empty rows so the seed would not be sowed in dry soil. The soil was broken up before sowing and then packed by hand as the seeds were dropped and pushed into the damp soil.
Mary sowed Warrior Bunching Onions in two grow boxes.
