6/25/2021 – Given the 5.81 inches of rain from TS Claudette last week, finally side-dressed the tomatoes and peppers as that much rain surely washed out the nitrogen and potash. Intended to side-dress them sooner but the daily threat of rain and some we did get, is my excuse. Threw some on the white scalloped squash and okra as cited below.
Side-dressed the tomatoes with 33-0-0 and the peppers with the 8-8-8 plus cotton seed meal mixed last month.
Also side-dressed the white scalloped squash and okra. The other squash is doing well other than the yellow scalloped as the very wet conditions is likely the cause of many stems rotting and very few squashes.
The original okra is now over a foot tall and not yet blooming—as expected. The leaves are pale green and that led to the side dressing with the 8-8-8 with cottonseed meal as that is what I was carrying at the time.
