pH Tests in the Yard, Gardens, Pond Yard, & Pond Water

9/17/2021 – We took readings in evenly scattered locations in the Yard and Gardens. The soil was very damp from the rain yesterday and 5″ from TD Nicholas. The readings were as follows.

      2. 5.9 south.
    2. East side yard
      1. 6.3 north of gate
    3. Front Yard
      1. 6.0 – front of Red Bud Tree Bed
      2. 6.1 – SE corner ~20 feet into the grass
      3. 5.7 – between crepe 3 and 4, ~20 feet into the grass
      4. 6.0 – between crepe 5 and 6, ~20 feet into the grass
      5. 5.5 – center about ~30 feet from driveway
      6. 6.0 – at front door ~20 feet from paver walkway
    4. Citrus Groove
      1. 6.4 – between Lady Bed and old Pecan Tree
      2. 6.4 – Between Lady Bed and rail fence

    2. North end
      1. 6.7 – east near rail fence
      2. 6.5 – half way between 6.7 and overflow
      3. 6.8 – east of the overflow 75 ft
      4. 6.7 – between ditch and magnolia
      5. 6.8 – Center of the area
      6. 6.6 – between blueberries just north of the martin gordes.

Pond Water was tested this date with the litmus strip and the findings were:

  1. pH = 6.2
  2. Total Alkalinity = 40
  3. Total Hardness = 50
