3/31/2023 – Disked the garden to kill the tiny weeds starting to come back, prepared the sunflower swath, and pulled up 4 rows with the hiller in the south half, west side. The rows are wider than the 42-inch standard by about 12-14 inches as the rear tire was run beside the previous track.
13-13-13 was spread between the tracks and then hilled. The following was planted and sowed:
- In the Seeds saved from last year’s Beach Sunflowers and the large ones were spread by hand and then raked in.
- In the first hilled row next to the sunflowers set out Celebrity tomatoes bought at G&D and Better Boy seedlings grown from seeds.
- In the second hilled row planted 2 Big Boy tomatoes and four Better Boys. Then 2 “sweet pepper plants. Reserving the remainder of the row for the peppers in the greenhouse.
- In the third row from the sunflowers planted broccoli plants on the north end then sowed seeds.
- In the fourth row sowed Cheers Cabbage and Sun Angel Spinach.
