Planted new Gladiolas
7/2/2019 – Mary planted new gladiolas bought from Michigan Bulb. Under the double windows to the family room – six Commander in Chief, Asiatic lilies, scarlet red blooms. Under the studio and office windows under the eave were two different colors mixed. Bicolor Blooms, 24″-36″ high Deepest Purple Flowers, Gladiolus Waris, 24″-36″ high

7/2/2019 – Many sicklepod plants have come up in the dirt area where the hay string was pulled out and Bahia grass seed spread. The powdery mildew has returned to the yellow squash leaves in the same plants as before; i.e. the 2nd and 3rd from the road fence. Application to the tomatoes and marigolds is preventative although the marigolds along the orchard fence seem to have a problem that is not bug related.

6/29/2019 – Pulled about 10 ears and did not find any ear worms. G90 corn from the first planting has had to date at least 50% ear worm damage. That is over more than 150 ears.

Shook original Sevin with Carbaryl dust on the silks of the 2nd and 3rd plantings of corn. About half the ears of the corn from the 1st planting have earworms in the very tip; i.e. just starting.

A few of the peas had dried to a yellow husk but most were filled out nicely and shelled well. Got from the five rows enough for a meal. There will be many more soon.
