8/14/2023 – Hedged roses top foot or so and cleaned up the sides to bloom in the fall. 11/30/2023 – With regular deadheading, the roses have bloomed consistently and survived two frosts so far. 12/18/2023 – All Roses are still blooming despite heavy frosts and a few nights below 32°.

Continue Reading07/28/2023 – Cut the tops out of the blueberry bushes as the berries are gone. After years of thinking they need to be shorter, we finally pruned them down to about 6-7 feet tall. That was about 1.5 feet shorter than in the past. The debris filled the truck bed. 07/31/2023

Continue Reading7/7/2023 – Found carpenter ants in 8-10 pecan trees in the orchard. Also in the northmost tree next to the pole barn and the southmost tree near the house that had been struck by lightning. Killed them with Bifrin IT at 1 oz/gal. They were also around the Sand Pear tree and the Old Oak.
