Pulled the first Silver King Corn
6/29/2019 – Pulled about 10 ears and did not find any ear worms. G90 corn from the first planting has had to date at least 50% ear worm damage. That is over more than 150 ears.

Shook original Sevin with Carbaryl dust on the silks of the 2nd and 3rd plantings of corn. About half the ears of the corn from the 1st planting have earworms in the very tip; i.e. just starting.

Sprayed new Sevin lightly on emerging corn silks–other than the first planting–to hopefully prevent earworms. This included the: G90, 2nd planting; Cherokee White; Black; and the Silver King. Sidedressed Okra as it has been about 6 weeks (too long as they are bearing) Also side-dressed zinnias in that row to see what happens.
