When we were here last month the figs were just forming and the blueberries were light green hard balls. By the time we left on July 4th we had about 15 or so figs, after eating some, and a quart of blue berries.
The drought was causing many of both to be small and shriveled. But, the figs still had that odd fig sweet taste and the blueberries were slightly tart–or at least not big, plump, sweet commercial ones.
Peggy and Frank next door have the commercial varieties you can pick. Click the link to their farm on the right side of this page.
