Transplanted Tomatoes

Gardening

8/31/2019 – Used Frank’s hiller to pull up a row along the west edge of the garden. First time with a 6″x6″ drag to level out the wide hill that was only about 4″ high. It worked great–no rake work.

Mary planted eight Celebrity seedlings we grew from seed in 2″ square pots on the carport.

The next morning, Mary planted the two Amelia tomato seedlings started from cuttings off the plants that were in the spring garden.

By 9/2/2019, we are at the beginning of a hot dry spell and are watering the tomatoes. I cut 2″ PVC pipe into about 15″ long pieces with one end cut at a 45. Each piece was pushed into the dirt beside each tomato to carry water to below the plants.
