1/19/2021 – Mary scoped out 5 gallons of pecan wood ash from the fireplace and we spread it around the four oleanders in the NE and NW corners of the pond yard. The soil test report this month showed the soil’s pH is 4.9, very acidic, and they like an alkaline soil although can live in an acidic soil per here.
We will soon spread lime in the pond yard and expect the ash will help the areas at the oleanders be even less acidic.
