Sowed Bok Choy and Swiss Chard in Mary’s Garden

Gardening

8/29/2020 – Sowed the west half of the 3′ x 8′ plots with Swiss Chard Northern Lights Mix and Li Ren Hybrid Pac Choi F1. Pressed 3′ long shallow furrows with the hoe handle and Mary dropped in the soaked seeds. The rows are 12″ apart for the chard and 18″ for the pac choi and run north-south. She then pulled soil over them by hand and patted down the rows.

The seeds have been soaking since late yesterday. She had to mix in grits to be able to handle them.

The chard seeds came from Garden Trends in NY and the Pac Choi came from Johnny’s.
