7/25/2019, about 2 pm – Using the Magic Chef Instant Meat thermometer I measured the soil temp in the recently disked big garden.
This afternoon the ambient temp was 91 but the morning started out really nice at 70 degrees. The sky was partly cloudy with more sun than shade from the clouds. The light fluffy soil was very dry.
The temp about 4″ down in the light fluffy dirt was up to 90 degrees. With the probe pushed down into the firm soil below a deep groove, the temps were in the 85-86 range.
