Removed Dead Azalea

Yard

8/11/2021 – Despite efforts since last fall the Azalea on the east side of the path to the barn has died of Crown Rot. We chopped and dug out around it and Fergie jerked it out of the ground.

The hole and about a foot beyond was drenched with water plus hydrogen peroxide at 3:1 up to the stump of the healthy azalea. Four gallons of the mix was poured evenly with the watering can.

The hole was then filled with topsoil from Dawes Turf Farm to create a raised bed. The adjacent healthy azalea was sprayed to run off with mancozeb.
