Re-sowed Kentucky Wonder Bush Beans

Gardening

5/3/2020 – The three rows of KWB in the south half planted on 3/27/2020 must have been planted too early and the weather was too cool as the germination was very poor. In addition, they were sown with the red plastic planter that never sowed evenly and has now been replaced with the HOSS planter. Details of the final status of those rows in the south half are as follows.

  • Row 7 – The 3/27/2020 sowing in the south end came up maybe 75% so they remain. The north end has a double row sown today.
  • Row 8 – The 3/27/2020 sowing came up maybe 75% in the south end so they remain. The north end has a double row sown today.
  • Row 9 – Row 7 – The 3/27/2020 sowing in the north end came up maybe 75% so they remain. The south end has a double row sown today.

The double rows were sown with the HOSS seeder with plate 6. The rows are at least 12″ apart and the seeds are 4-3/4″ apart.
