10/31/2020 – Last Saturday, we took 62 lbs. of Farley and Shoshoni pecans to Tanner Feed to be cracked and blowed/cleaned. Today we picked up 17 lbs good of halves, pieces, some shells, and a some off-color halves. That is 27% of the original 62 lbs.
We picked out the off-color ones and shell pieces. We had 8.0 lbs of halves and pieces that were vac-packed and frozen. That means the final yield was only 12.9%.
The first Stewart’s yield was 26% meat of the original in-shell weight.
