7/31/2020 – Spread 7 sacks Black Kaw manure and 8-8-8+Borax in Mary’s garden and tilled in. The tilling incorporated the additives and killed the weeds that sprouted.
The intent is for the manure to reduce the chance the soil again becomes compacted and to temper the pH. The seven sacks consisted of three 1 CF ones from Home Depot and four 50 lb. ones from Hurley Feed & Seed. The sacks were dumped into rows and racked level. Then the fertilizer was thrown on and tilled in.
The 8-8-8 with Borax added was thrown on lightly to provide an initial boost a few weeks before sowing.
