9/4/2020 – The small gnat-like flies and small dark eggs are back every morning despite the two malathion sprays and two Bug-No-More with Zeta-cypermethrin (sp?) sprayings.
The eggs and problem with the leaves looks like the early stages of squash vine borer. Several places recommended Spinosad.
Went to Hurley F&S and bought Ferti-lome’s Spinosad Soap Concentrate that contains Spinosad and Insecticidal Soap combined. Sprayed all the pumpkins and squash plants. The small flies quit moving quickly. Sprayed the base of the plants well.
