Medicinal Plants

Tia Gonzales on FB – I’m hesitant to reply since I’m a horticulturist, not an herbalist. But my go-to for poison ivy or bee sting is plantain. Not the salve, just raw. Chew a few leaves and swallow the juice (swallowing juice is important), then apply the masticated mass of leaves to the bite or rash. Keep doing this until it gets better. It’s magic. Both Plantago lanceolata and Plantago obovata work. This is not the plantain from the grocery aisle.
