Began Feeding Fingerlings in mid-Morning & mid-Afternoon

Pond

2/29/2020 – Based on the advice at American Sportfish Hatchery, we began feeding the Coppernose Bluegill and Fathead Minnows in mid-afternoon when the water is warmer. Also, waited until mid-morning to let it begin to warm up.

Up to this date, we have feed early AM and near sundown. But, have not been seeing them hit the floating pellets. The pellets did disappear like they sunk so we have been worried they are not getting them. Today, put some in a bowl and watched to see how fast they sunk. Several hours later they still had not sunk. The fingerlings must be quietly dragging them below the surface and eating.
